AFY-SEWING: Sowing Skills, Reaping the Future

Train 20 vulnerable young people from Yaoundé in sewing trades and support them all the way to launching their own activity.

The program

Overview

AFY-SEWING aims to train and place 20 vulnerable young people, women and men, in sewing trades in Yaoundé. The program addresses social exclusion, youth unemployment and limited access to vocational training by providing technical and practical skills while fostering autonomy and personal growth.

The program runs over three years: workshop reinforcement, full vocational training, and support for the creation of micro-enterprises. The pedagogy is based on "learning by doing", psycho-educational follow-up, and support in management, marketing and job search to maximise lasting integration.

What we aim for

Objectives

  • Train 20 young people (aged 15-25) in sewing techniques
  • Strengthen the sewing workshop (equipment, raw materials, supervision)
  • Support the creation of micro-enterprises after training
  • Provide individual psycho-educational follow-up throughout the journey
  • Equip beneficiaries with management, marketing and job-search skills
